Willunga 100 `Trott Vineyard` Blewitt Springs Grenache from McLaren Vale, Blewitt Springs, Australia, is a vibrant Red Still Dry wine crafted from old-vine Grenache. It opens with a bright, lifted nose of redcurrant and delicate violets, leading to a palate bursting with juicy red berry fruit, warm cinnamon spice, and a hint of orange zest and cranberry. The wine finishes with bright, refreshing acidity and lingering fine-grained tannins, reflecting its stainless steel maturation on lees. Vinification
The fruit was hand harvested with 10% remaining as whole bunch and the remainder destemmed into stainless steel open fermenters. Fermentation took place on the skins, lasting for 10 days, during which time gentle plunging took place to ensure optimum extraction while maintaining the delicate aromatics. The wine was basket pressed off skins before maturation and malolactic fermentation on lees in stainless steel to retain fruit purity and freshness.
