Truchard Roussanne Los Carneros AVA, Carneros, USA is a still, dry white wine crafted from 19-42 year old Roussanne vines. The fruit is whole cluster pressed and barrel fermented in French oak (20% new), then aged on fine lees for six months with regular stirring, allowing a partial malolactic fermentation to enhance complexity. This vegetarian-friendly wine offers an aromatic nose of honeysuckle, pineapple, and vanilla, leading to a crisp palate with flavours of white nectarine, lemon zest, and lychee. Its bright acidity balances a rich mouthfeel, culminating in a lengthy finish of citrus and spice. A versatile choice, it pairs beautifully with rich fish or poultry.

Vinification
After picking, the fruit was whole cluster pressed, which contributed to creating a full-bodied wine with delicate structure. The juice was then barrel fermented in French oak (20% new). After fermentation the wine was barrel aged and rested on fine lees for 6 months. A partial malolactic fermentation (30% complete) was allowed to take place so that the wine retained its natural acidity, while regular lees stirring added complexity and richness.
