Matošević `Alba Antiqua` Malvazija Istarska from Istria, Croatia, is a captivating dry white wine. Crafted from 100% Malvazija Istarska (Malvasia Istriana) grapes, it undergoes skin fermentation for several days to build texture, followed by 30 months of ageing in French oak and acacia barrels. This process yields a wine with complex herbal, mineral, and bitter almond characteristics, alongside ripe aromatics of apricot, spices, and bright floral notes. The rich, rounded palate offers flavours of acacia flowers and honey, leading to a long finish with tropical and nutty undertones. A truly expressive wine, it is vegan and vegetarian friendly, pairing beautifully with rich fish dishes or roasted poultry.

Vinification
The grapes were manually sorted before crushing and destemming. The grapes were then macerated for 48 hours before skin-fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks, which lasted for a week. The wine was then transferred and aged on fine lees in French oak and acacia barrels for 30 months. It was then bottled and aged in bottle for a further 6 months prior to release.
