Malagousia

Kanakaris Malagousia Slopes of Aigialia PGI, Greece, is a vibrant still White wine. Crafted from hand-harvested Malagousia grapes grown in high-altitude vineyards, it undergoes 36-hour skin maceration and fermentation in stainless steel to preserve its distinctive aromatics. Expect lifted notes of lemon, white peach, and pink grapefruit, complemented by dandelion flowers, fennel, and grassy undertones. The palate is richly textured with tropical fruits, herbs, and citrus, balanced by a zesty acidity and a long, aromatic finish. This dry, vegan and vegetarian-friendly wine is perfect with lean fish, poultry, or fresh salads.

75.0CL , 11.5% ABV , Vintage: 2024

Vinification

The grapes were harvested by hand and carefully selected in the vineyards, then transported to the winery in small crates. The grapes were destemmed and crushed, followed by pre-fermentation maceration on the skins at 8°C for 36 hours, followed by gentle pressing to yield the free-run juice. Fermentation took place at low temperatures of 12 - 14°C and was followed by two months on the fine lees in stainless steel tanks, to preserve freshness. The wine did not undergo malolactic fermentation, and there was no oak ageing to best capture the characteristics of this distinctive Aegialia clone.

This vibrant white wine offers a captivating aromatic experience, with lifted notes of lemon, white peach, and pink grapefruit, complemented by herbal and grassy undertones. The palate is richly textured, revealing tropical fruits, zesty citrus, and a refreshing herbal finish, all balanced by a lively acidity.
