Kaiken Clásico, Mendoza Malbec, Argentina. This vibrant Red, dry Malbec, still in style, is meticulously crafted from grapes grown in the Agrelo region at 950 metres above sea level. Hand-harvested grapes undergo fermentation in small tanks, with 40% of the wine aged for six months in French oak barrels, resulting in a fruit-forward profile with soft, silky tannins. It offers pronounced plum and blackberry aromas, complemented by notes of black pepper and clove. The palate is fresh, showcasing attractive plum character. This vegan and vegetarian-friendly wine pairs beautifully with beef, lamb, or mature and hard cheeses, offering superb value.

Vinification

The grapes were hand harvested and transported in 300-kilogram batches, and once in the winery, individual berries were carefully selected. The juice was fermented in small tanks, followed by alcoholic fermentation and maceration lasting around 20 days. 40% of the wine was aged for six months in French oak barrels, after which it was blended, resulting in a fruit-forward wine with soft, silky tannins.

Flavour profile

This Malbec offers pronounced aromas of plum and blackberry, enhanced by hints of black pepper and baking spices. The palate is fresh, showcasing attractive plum character with soft, ripe, silky tannins.

Serving recommendation

Serve at 16-18°C, decanting for an hour before serving to enhance its fruit and soften tannins.
