Famille Perrin ‘Les Crus’ `Les Christins` Vacqueyras, France, is a powerful and intense Red wine, dry and still in style, crafted predominantly from Grenache with Syrah. Sourced from old vines with an average age of 50 years, the grapes are co-fermented with gentle extraction and aged for a year in oak foudres and used oak barrels. This wine offers beautiful complexity on the nose with aromas of thyme, ripe red cherry, and blackberry. The opulent palate is well-balanced with silky tannins, revealing hints of black pepper, anise, and expressive red plum fruit. It pairs wonderfully with robust dishes such as beef, lamb, game, or mature and hard cheeses.
75.0CL , 14.5% ABV
Harvest dates for this Grenache and Syrah co-planted site were based on the maturity of the Grenache, with the Syrah being harvested very ripe. The grapes are picked by hand. In the cellar they were sorted, crushed and vatted. The Grenache and Syrah were co-fermented, with gentle extraction by manual punch downs. Following malolactic fermentation and blending, the wines were aged in foudres and barrels for one year.
This Grenache-dominant red wine offers a beautiful complexity of aromas, featuring local herbs, ripe red cherry, and blackberry. On the palate, it is opulent and well-balanced with silky tannins, complemented by hints of black pepper and anise, showcasing a powerful intensity with expressive red fruit.
Serve at 16-18°C. Decant for 1 hour to allow full expression of its complex aromas and flavours.
