Domenico Clerico `Trevigne` Barbera d’Alba, from Barbera d’Alba, Italy, is a still, dry Red wine crafted from Barbera grapes. Undergoing 20-25 day macerations and 12 months ageing in French and Slavonian oak, this wine captures the unique character of its Monforte d'Alba vineyards. It presents a deep ruby colour, with aromas of blackberry, chocolate, strawberry, and peppery notes. The palate is rich yet elegant, showcasing a perfect balance of dark fruit, body, and acidity, leading to a persistent finish. A versatile choice, it pairs beautifully with rich pasta dishes, roasted red meats, and mature cheeses.

Vinification
The Barbera grapes were hand harvested at perfect maturity. Once at the winery, they were carefully selected on a sorting table to ensure only the best were vinified. Cold soaking (maceration on the skins) took place to to extract the full potential and richness of the fruit while preserving its inherent freshness, with fermentation following at controlled temperatures. The wine was then racked to both second-use 228 litre French oak and Slavonian oak for 12 months before being bottled and released.
