Sanama Reserva Merlot from Cachapoal Andes Valley, Chile is a vibrant red still dry wine crafted primarily from Merlot grapes. This wine undergoes a unique vinification process where 30% is aged for 10 months in second and third fill oak barrels, while the rest matures in Inox tanks, resulting in a beautifully balanced profile. It offers enticing aromas of blackcurrant, plum, spicy black pepper, and warm vanilla. On the palate, the fruit-forward character shines through, complemented by soft, round tannins and a fresh finish. This versatile red pairs wonderfully with beef, lamb, poultry, or mature hard cheeses.

Vinification

The grapes were mechanically harvested and destemmed. Pre-fermentation cold maceration took place for 4-5 days at 6°C. Following this, fermentation was carried out in Inox tanks with a controlled temperature between 24-26°C. After fermentation, 30% of the wine was aged for 10 months in second and third fill oak barrels to soften the tannins. The remaining 70% of the wine was aged in Inox tanks.
