Montes Classic Series, Colchagua Malbec Valle Central DO, from Chile's Colchagua Valley, is a superb Red still dry wine crafted from 100% Malbec grapes. After fermentation in stainless steel and skin contact for body, 40% of the wine was aged in French oak for six months. It offers intense aromas of fresh blueberry, blackberry, and plum, complemented by sweet spices. The palate reveals hints of vanilla and nutmeg from the oak, presenting a medium-bodied profile with smooth, silky tannins and a long finish. This expressive Malbec pairs wonderfully with grilled meats or rich pasta dishes.

Vinification
Upon arrival to the winery, the grapes were hand selected prior to crushing. Following a 10 -15 day fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine remained in contact with the skins to add greater roundness and body. The wine then went through full malolactic fermentation before 40% was aged in French oak barrels for six months ahead of bottling.
Flavour profile
This Malbec presents a deep ruby red hue, offering intense aromas of fresh blueberry, blackberry, and plum, beautifully accented by sweet spices. The palate is medium-bodied, revealing hints of vanilla and nutmeg from French oak, culminating in a smooth texture with silky tannins and a long, satisfying finish.
Serving recommendation
Serve at 16-18°C, decanting for 30 minutes to enhance its rich fruit and spice.
