Momento Chenin Blanc/Verdelho from Western Cape, South Africa, is a captivating dry white wine crafted from Chenin Blanc and Verdelho grapes. Winemaker Marelise Niemann employs minimalist vinification, using indigenous yeast barrel fermentations and maturation in old French oak, with 100% malolactic fermentation, to preserve purity. It offers aromas of jasmine, white peach, and lemon rind with wet stone minerality. The palate is full-bodied and mouth-coating, featuring notes of brioche and tart lemon curd, supported by mouth-watering acidity leading to a long, pithy finish. This elegant wine is vegan and vegetarian, making it a versatile choice for various dishes.

Vinification
Marelise employs a minimalist approach in the cellar to ensure the purest expression of vineyard and variety. The grapes were gently whole bunch basket-pressed. Fermentation took place in 225 and 400 litre old French oak barrels using indigenous yeasts. Some of the fine lees was added back to the juice in barrel to allow for more complex characters and textures to develop. The wine was aged for 10 months in barrel following 100% malolactic fermentation, and bottled without fining.
