Kaiken Terroir Series, Vistaflores Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec Petit Verdot from Uco Valley, Luján de Cuyo, Argentina. This still, dry Red wine is a masterful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. Handpicked grapes undergo fermentation in concrete tanks, followed by 8 months of ageing in French oak barrels, imparting complexity. On the nose, expect vivid aromas of ripe red and black fruit, roasted pepper, thyme, and liquorice. The medium-bodied palate offers ripe fruit flavours, firm yet integrated tannins, and balanced acidity, with a chewy density of fruit. It pairs exceptionally well with robust red meat dishes.
75.0CL , 14.5% ABV
All varieties were handpicked in April and transported quickly to the winery, where they were carefully selected to ensure only those in pristine condition were vinified. The grapes underwent a pre-fermentation maceration on the skins at a cool 10ºC for 7 days. Fermentation followed in concrete tanks at a controlled temperature of 26°C for one week, using selected yeasts. Post fermentation, the wine macerated on the skins for a further 20 days to extract additional colour and tannins. It was then transferred to French oak barrels, a third of which was new and the remainder second and third use, to age for 8 months before being bottled and aged for a final 3 months prior to release.
This structured Red wine offers a complex bouquet of vivid ripe red and black fruits, complemented by notes of roasted pepper, thyme, and a hint of liquorice. On the palate, it presents ripe fruit flavours, firm yet well-integrated tannins, and balanced acidity, leading to a chewy and satisfying finish.
Decant for 30 minutes and serve at 16-18°C for optimal enjoyment.
