Gabriëlskloof `The Blend` from Walker Bay, South Africa, is a captivating still red wine (rouge) that is dry and full-bodied. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec was hand-picked, destemmed, and fermented with indigenous yeasts in old French oak barriques, then aged for 18 months. It displays intense black fruit aromatics complemented by cured meat, leather notes, and savoury wet earth, with a hint of floral elegance. The palate offers pure flavours of ripe mulberry, cassis, and liquorice, enhanced by gentle clove and star anise spice, with finely integrated tannins. This versatile wine pairs beautifully with roasted lamb or mature cheeses. It is also suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

The grapes were hand picked for optimal fruit quality and bunches were destemmed. Fermentation took place in old French oak barriques using only indigenous yeast. The wine was then aged 18 months in old French barriques.
This full-bodied red wine offers intense black fruit aromatics, complemented by savoury notes of cured meat, leather, and wet earth, with a hint of floral elegance. The palate reveals pure flavours of ripe mulberry, cassis, and liquorice, enhanced by gentle clove and star anise spice.
Serve at 16-18°C; decant for an hour to allow its complex aromas to unfold.
