Frédéric Berne, `Pierre Bleue` Beaujolais AOC, France, is a vibrant Red (still) dry wine crafted from 100% Gamay grapes. Certified organic, vegan, and vegetarian, Frédéric Berne employs minimal intervention, hand-harvesting grapes for 80% whole-bunch, semi-carbonic maceration in stainless steel, followed by six months in concrete vats. This wine offers fragrant perfumes of blueberries, black cherry, and bramble, leading to a palate of juicy red and black fruit with supple tannins and a mouthwatering acidity. It pairs wonderfully with poultry, cured meats, or mild cheeses.
75.0CL , 12.5% ABV
All of the grapes were hand harvested. Frédéric follows a policy of minimal intervention in his winemaking and uses only indigenous yeasts. The 2023 'Pierre Bleue' was made using 80% whole bunch and semi-carbonic maceration with fermentation in stainless-steel tanks lasting for around 10 days. Following fermentation, the wine was aged for six months in concrete vats prior to bottling.
This Gamay offers a fragrant and expressive profile, showcasing notes of bramble and black cherry compote. On the palate, it delivers juicy red and black fruit flavours with supple tannins and a mouthwatering acidity, leading to a lingering finish.
Serve lightly chilled at 12-14°C to best enjoy its vibrant fruit; no decanting required.
