Domaine La Croix Gratiot `Rouge Cerise` Pays d'Hérault IGP, France, is a vibrant red (still) wine crafted from 100% Syrah. This dry wine, from an estate recognised for its commitment to biodynamic farming and organic certification, undergoes a short maceration and is unoaked, remaining in stainless steel to preserve its fresh, pure character. It boasts enticing aromas of ripe cherry fruit and hints of black pepper. On the palate, smooth tannins are beautifully balanced by bright acidity, carrying fragrant red fruit flavours through to a satisfying finish. Certified organic, it pairs wonderfully with roasted poultry, lamb, or mature cheeses.

Vinification
Grapes were hand-picked and sorted meticulously at the winery prior to crushing and a pre-fermentation maceration at low temperatures. Alcoholic fermentation lasted around seven days and optimum extraction of colour and tannins was achieved through daily punch downs of the cap. Unoaked, the wine remained in stainless-steel tanks until bottling.

This fresh and vibrant red wine offers an enticing bouquet of ripe cherry and raspberry, complemented by a subtle hint of black pepper. On the palate, it delivers pure red fruit flavours, balanced by bright acidity and smooth tannins for a delightful finish.

Serve at 14-16°C; a short decant will enhance its fragrant red fruit notes.
