Château Los Boldos Gran Reserva from Cachapoal Valley, Chile, is a captivating Red (Rouge) still dry wine crafted primarily from Carménère grapes. This elegant wine undergoes a meticulous vinification process, with 20% aged for 10 months in second and third use French oak barrels, while the remainder matures in stainless steel tanks. It presents intense fruity aromas of blackberries and ripe plum, complemented by hints of dark chocolate. On the palate, it offers a round, full structure with good acidity and a persistent finish. This vegan and vegetarian-friendly wine pairs wonderfully with roasted meats or mature cheeses.

Vinification

Mechanical harvest was carried out before pre-fermentation maceration took place in stainless steel tanks, lasting five days at 6°C. Fermentation took place in the same tanks at controlled temperatures of between 24-26°C, lasting 12 days. 20% of the wine was aged for 10 months in second and third use wine barrels, where malolactic fermentation took place. The remaining 80% of the wine was aged in stainless steel tanks.

This captivating Red wine offers intense fruity aromas of blackberries and ripe plum, complemented by hints of dark chocolate. On the palate, it delivers a round, full structure with good acidity and a persistent finish, showcasing its elegant Carménère character.

Serving recommendation

Serve at 16-18°C. Decanting for 30 minutes before serving is recommended.
