Mediceo Chianti from Italy is a vibrant Red still dry wine, crafted primarily from Sangiovese grapes. Fermented in concrete tanks with native yeast and aged in both large oak casks and concrete, it develops bright cherry fruit aromas complemented by hints of chocolate and balsamic vinegar. The palate reveals fresh red fruit supported by fine-grain tannins, culminating in a savoury finish with a touch of minerality. This versatile wine pairs beautifully with pasta dishes, mature cheeses, and various red meats, offering an excellent introduction to this historic Tuscan denomination.
75.0CL , 13.5% ABV
The grapes were hand harvested and selected. Once arrived at the winery, the grapes were destemmed and gently crushed before being fermented in concrete tanks for two weeks using only native yeast. After fermentation and pressing in a gentle pneumatic press to extract the juice, some of the wine was aged in 54HL large oak casks, while the rest was aged in concrete tanks.
This vibrant Red wine offers an appealing bouquet of bright cherry fruit, hints of cocoa, and a touch of balsamic vinegar. On the palate, it delivers fresh red fruit characteristics, supported by fine-grain tannins, leading to a savoury finish with a subtle minerality.
Serve at 16-18°C, decant for 30 minutes to enhance aromas.
