Izadi Rioja Reserva Rioja DOCa from Rioja Alavesa, Spain, is a superb Red wine. This dry, still, vegan and vegetarian-friendly wine is crafted primarily from Tempranillo grapes, benefiting from 16 months of ageing in American and French oak barrels, followed by two years in bottle. It offers a fresh and fragrant nose of blackberry, redcurrant, tobacco, and liquorice. The palate is pure and concentrated, showcasing lively red and black fruit flavours with notes of toast and spice, leading to a long, fruit-forward finish. This complex wine is a versatile companion to roasted meats, lamb, and mature cheeses.

Grapes were destemmed and gently pressed, followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with regular pump overs to extract the right amount of colour and tannins. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, before being aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels, 20% of which were new, for a period of 16 months. The wine then spent more than two years ageing in bottle before release.
This Rioja Reserva presents a fresh and fragrant nose, revealing aromas of blackberry, redcurrant, tobacco, and earthy undertones. The palate is pure and concentrated, with lively red and black fruit flavours, complemented by subtle toast and spice notes, leading to a long, fruit-forward finish.
Serve at 16-18°C, decant for an hour to allow it to open up.
