Curatolo Arini Marsala Superiore Riserva from Marsala, Italy, is an exquisite orange fortified wine, crafted from Grillo, Inzolia, and Catarratto grapes. This semi-sweet wine undergoes a traditional vinification process, fortified with white grape spirit and aged for 10 years in a blend of Slavonian, French, and American oak. It presents intense aromas of toasted almond, cloves, and cinnamon, leading to a full, velvety body on the palate. Complex dried fruit flavours unfold, culminating in a long, smooth, and subtly spicy finish. A versatile choice, it pairs beautifully with mature and hard cheeses or as an elegant aperitif.
75.0CL , 18.0% ABV
The local grapes were destemmed and transferred to stainless-steel tanks for pre-fermentation maceration. Fermentation took place in stainless-steel vats at a controlled temperature of 20-25C° for one week, with frequent délestage. The wine was fermented to dryness and remained in tank for a further seven days on the skins to maximise tannin extraction. The wine was then fortified up to 18%, before it was racked to a mixture of Slavonian, French and American oak barriques and tonneaux for maturation, where it remained for 10 years.
This exquisite Marsala Superiore Riserva offers a rich, concentrated, and elegant experience. It presents intense aromas of toasted almond, cloves, and cinnamon, leading to a full, velvety body on the palate. Serve slightly chilled at 12-14°C. Decanting is recommended to enhance its complex aromas.
