Casa Ferreirinha `Vinha Grande` Douro Rosé from Portugal is a pioneering still, dry wine crafted entirely from Touriga Nacional grapes. Hand-harvested and gently pressed, the must undergoes a short cold maceration to extract delicate colour and vibrant aromatics before fermentation in stainless steel. It then matures for five months in stainless steel and used French oak, developing bright aromas of red berries, strawberry, and violet. The palate reveals refreshing acidity carrying crisp, elegant red fruit flavours, culminating in a refined finish. This versatile rosé is perfect for a wide array of culinary pairings.
75.0CL , 11.5% ABV
The grapes were hand harvested into small 20 kg boxes. Upon arrival at the winery they were very gently pressed and underwent a short cold maceration on the skins prior to fermentation, to extract aromatics and a delicate pale pink colour. The skins were then separated from the must and fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures to preserve the bright fruit flavours of the Touriga Nacional. The wine was matured in stainless steel and used French oak barrels for five months before the final blend was assembled. The wine was cold stabilised before bottling.
This elegant Douro Rosé, crafted from Touriga Nacional, offers precise aromas of red berries, strawberry, and cherry, beautifully complemented by delicate hints of violet. On the palate, a refreshing acidity carries these bright fruit flavours to a crisp and elegant finish.
Serve chilled at 12-14°C to best enjoy its vibrant fruit and refreshing acidity.
