Casa Ferreirinha `Callabriga` Douro DOC, Portugal, is a captivating still Red wine, crafted dry from a blend of Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, and Tinta Roriz grapes. Fermented in stainless steel and aged for 12 months in a combination of new American and used French oak, this wine offers intense aromas of ripe strawberry, cherry, and cassis, with intriguing hints of truffles, cedar, tobacco box, and cocoa. The palate is rich with concentrated red and black fruit, supported by fresh acidity and velvety tannins, leading to a long, harmonious finish. This vegan and vegetarian-friendly wine pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes.

'Callabriga' is made at the state-of-the-art, gravity-fed Quinta da Leda winery. After full destemming, the grapes underwent gentle crushing before being transferred to stainless-steel tanks for fermentation at controlled temperatures. Following fermentation, there was an extended maceration on the skins to extract silky tannins. The wine was then racked off the skins and aged in a combination of new American oak (25%) and used French oak (75%) barrels for 12 months. The final blend was carefully assembled after numerous tastings and analysis and was gently filtered before bottling.
This deep ruby wine offers an intense and complex nose of ripe strawberry, cherry, and cassis, complemented by subtle hints of truffles and cedar. On the palate, it delivers concentrated red and black fruit flavours, balanced by fresh acidity and velvety tannins, leading to a long, harmonious finish.
Serve at 12-14°C. Decanting is recommended to allow the wine to breathe and express its full character.
