Willunga 100 McLaren Vale Grenache from McLaren Vale, Australia, is a vibrant Red (still) wine, dry and crafted entirely from Grenache grapes. This wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel, with a portion of whole bunches, and 60% is transferred to seasoned French oak puncheons for malolactic fermentation, then aged on fine lees. It offers bright aromatic red cherry fruit, earthy spice, and liquorice notes, leading to a generous palate laden with red fruits, cardamom spice, and woody herbs, all framed by fine-grained tannins. The result is a juicy and vibrant wine. This wine is vegan and vegetarian-friendly, making it a versatile choice for various culinary delights, from roasted poultry to Mediterranean dishes.
75.0CL , 14.5% ABV
The three selected parcels were hand harvested and vinified separately. Fermentation took place in stainless steel, open-top fermenters. Two parcels were fermented with 20% whole bunch (equating to approximately 14% whole bunch across the wine). Gentle basket pressing took place after 10 days on the skins. Following primary fermentation, 60% of the wine was transferred to seasoned French oak puncheons to undergo malolactic fermentation. The wine remained on fine lees for 10 months prior to racking and bottling, unfined.
This vibrant Red Grenache offers a bright aromatic profile of red cherry fruit, earthy spice, and liquorice notes. The palate is generous, laden with juicy red fruits, complemented by cardamom spice and woody herbs, all framed by fine-grained tannins for a truly vibrant experience.
Serve at 14-16°C; decant for 30 minutes to enhance aromatics.
