Tinpot Hut Pinot Noir from Marlborough, New Zealand, is a captivating Red still wine, offering a dry and elegant experience. Crafted from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, this wine undergoes fermentation with native yeast strains and is aged on lees in French oak, contributing to its complexity. It presents intense aromas of black cherry, plum, and redcurrant, leading to a palate where classic black cherry notes are supported by hints of bramble. The tannins are soft and silky, with well-balanced acidity ensuring excellent length and weight. This versatile wine pairs beautifully with poultry, pork, mushroom dishes, or mild and soft cheeses.
75.0CL , 13.0% ABV
The fruit was picked at optimum ripeness and carefully transported to the winery for destemming and chilling. Each vineyard parcel was kept separate in small open-top fermenters and cold soaked to extract maximum flavour and colour stability. The wine was fermented using native yeast strains and the must was hand plunged up to four times a day. The wine was presed off to a mixture of new and used French oak, and stainless steel tanks. Each parcel went through malolactic fermentation and was aged on lees before being blended, stabilised, lightly fined with vegetable protein and prepared for bottling.
This Pinot Noir offers intense aromas of black cherry, plum, and redcurrant, complemented by savoury mushroom and toasty oak. On the palate, classic black cherry notes are supported by bramble, with soft, silky tannins and well-balanced acidity leading to excellent length.
Serve at 12-14°C, decant for 30 minutes to enhance its elegant fruit and silky texture.
