Specogna Refosco Colli Orientali DOC, from Italy's Colli Orientali region, is a captivating dry red still wine crafted entirely from the Refosco grape. This deep ruby red wine, with its alluring violet highlights, undergoes a 15-day skin maceration and 12 months of ageing in 500-litre wooden barrels. It develops intense notes of red berry fruit, cherries, and complex spice box perfumes, revealing a lovely structure and body on the palate, balanced by pleasant acidity and good tannins. This vegan and vegetarian-friendly wine pairs wonderfully with rich meat dishes and hearty pasta, offering a true taste of Friuli's winemaking heritage.
75.0CL , 12.5% ABV
The Refosco grapes were harvested by hand. At the winery, they were destemmed and gently crushed at a maintained temperature of 25°C. Maceration on the skins lasted 15 days until the wine was racked and aged in 500 litre wooden barrels. Blending and bottling took place after 12 months.
This Refosco presents a deep ruby red colour with violet highlights, offering an intense aromatic profile of red berry fruit, cherries, and complex spice box perfumes. On the palate, it delivers a lovely structure and body, balanced by pleasant acidity and good tannins, culminating in a satisfying and flavourful experience.
Serve at 16-18°C. Decant for 30-60 minutes to enhance its rich fruit and spice.
