A vibrant Red wine from Central Otago, offering rich black cherry and raspberry notes with silky tannins
Pickup currently not available
Rua, `RUA` Central Otago Pinot Noir from New Zealand is a remarkably attractive still red wine. This dry Pinot Noir offers a rich and generous palate with notes of black cherry, raspberry, and plum, beautifully supported by vanilla and subtle dried herbs. Grapes are cold soaked and macerated on skins to build a fine tannic backbone, with a portion aged in new oak for integrated tannins and fruit structure. The result is a wine with silky tannins, a fresh finish, and a subtle spiciness. It pairs wonderfully with poultry, lamb, or mushroom dishes.
75.0CL , 13.5% ABV
Grapes for the RUA Pinot Noir are cold soaked for five days before fermentation, during which they receive twice daily punch downs. The juice is then macerated on its skins for six days post-fermentation to ensure the wine has a fine tannic backbone. After harvesting, the fruit was processed into stainless steel tanks. After remaining on the skins for 23-32 days, it was gently pressed off. A portion was aged in new oak barrels to provide fine integrated tannins and fruit structure while the remainder was kept in stainless steel to maintain its freshness and vibrancy.
This Central Otago Pinot Noir offers a rich and generous palate, brimming with notes of black cherry, raspberry, and plum. Supported by hints of vanilla and subtle dried herbs, it presents silky tannins and a fresh finish with a delicate spiciness.
Serve at 12-14°C, decanting for an hour to enhance its aromatic complexity.
