Quinta de Azevedo Loureiro Escolha from Vinho Verde, Portugal, is an elegant dry White wine crafted from the indigenous Loureiro grape, showcasing the unique terroir of the Minho region. Fermented in stainless steel with 15% aged in used French oak barrels for six months on lees, it offers vibrant aromas of tropical passion fruit and mango, complemented by bright grapefruit and lemon peel. The palate is well-balanced with fresh acidity, echoing the fruit flavours, and a delightful creamy texture that leads to a long, pleasant finish. This versatile wine is perfect with lean fish, shellfish, or poultry. It is also suitable for vegan and vegetarian diets.
75.0CL , 12.0% ABV
Upon arrival at the winery, the fruit was fully destemmed and immediately cooled. The grapes were gently pressed at low temperatures to preserve the delicate aromatics, followed by a cold static decantation lasting three days (with the lees removed within the first 24 hours). Fermentation took place at controlled temperatures between 14-15°C. The wine was aged for six months on lees with frequent stirring, with a portion (15%) aged in used French oak barrels. After bottling the wine was aged for a further three months prior to release.
This dry white wine offers an exuberant aromatic profile of tropical passion fruit and mango, complemented by bright citrus notes of grapefruit and lemon peel. On the palate, it is well-balanced with fresh acidity, echoing the tropical and citrus flavours, all rounded off by a creamy texture from oak ageing.
Serve chilled at 10-12°C to best enjoy its vibrant fruit and creamy texture. No decanting required.
