Quinta de Azevedo Alvarinho Escolha from Minho, Portugal, is a vibrant dry White wine crafted from 100% Alvarinho grapes. Fermented in stainless steel with 15% aged in used French oak barrels and six months on lees, it offers vibrant aromas of yellow peach and apricot. The palate is fresh with ripe fruit flavours, balanced by a creamy texture and a long, lingering finish. This elegant still wine is vegan and vegetarian-friendly, making it a superb choice for pairing with roasted poultry or rich fish dishes.
75.0CL , 13.0% ABV
The Alvarinho grapes were all hand harvested. Upon arrival at the winery, the fruit was fully destemmed and immediately cooled. The grapes were gently pressed at low temperatures to preserve the delicate aromatics, followed by a cold static decantation for three to five days (with the lees removed within the first 24 hours). Fermentation took place at controlled temperatures between 15-16°C. The wine was aged for six months on lees with frequent stirring, with a portion (15%) aged in used French oak barrels. After bottling the wine was aged for a further three months prior to release.
This vibrant dry white wine offers bursting aromas of yellow peach and apricot. The palate is fresh with ripe fruit flavours, beautifully balanced by a creamy texture from oak ageing, leading to a long and lingering finish.
Serve chilled at 12-14°C to best enjoy its vibrant fruit and creamy texture.
