A vibrant red wine with ripe cherry and violet aromas, complemented by vanilla and rounded tannins

Montes Alpha Malbec from Colchagua Valley, Chile, is a superb still red wine, showcasing the depth and structure of this variety. This dry Malbec undergoes a meticulous vinification process, including cold soaking and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel, followed by post-fermentation maceration. Half of the blend is then aged for 12 months in French oak, imparting complexity and roundness. On the nose, it reveals enticing aromas of ripe cherries, violets, and notes of vanilla and dulce de leche. The palate is well-balanced with rounded, fine-grained tannins, offering a rich, deeply flavoured, and lingering finish. This wine is an excellent accompaniment to robust dishes such as beef, lamb, and mature cheeses.
75.0CL , 14.5% ABV
The grapes were cold soaked for five days to extract aromas, before fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks for 12 days. The wine also went through a period of post-fermentation maceration on the skins to develop structure and colour. After malolactic fermentation, 50% of the final blend was aged in French oak barrels (50% new) for 12 months to add complexity and roundness.
This Chilean Malbec offers an enticing bouquet of ripe cherries and violets, beautifully complemented by hints of vanilla and baking spices from its French oak aging. On the palate, it is well-balanced with rounded tannins, leading to a rich and lingering finish.
Serve at 16-18°C. Decanting for 30 minutes will enhance its rich aromas and flavours.
