Mandrarossa Merlot from Sicily, Italy, is a still, dry red wine (rouge) crafted solely from Merlot grapes. Hailing from the best sites within Cantine Settesoli’s extensive vineyards, this wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve its vibrant character. It presents a ruby red colour with violet reflections. The nose offers intense aromas of plums, quince, and rosemary, leading to a palate with ripe tannins and notes of liquorice, mulberries, and a hint of wild asparagus. This perfectly balanced wine boasts a long, silky-smooth finish, making it a versatile choice that pairs beautifully with roasted beef, lamb, poultry, and pasta dishes.
75.0CL , 13.5% ABV
Once at the winery, the hand-harvested grapes were crushed and destemmed. Fermentation took place in stainless-steel tanks at 22-25°C and lasted for 6-8 days. The wine then spent a further eight months ageing in stainless-steel tanks before bottling.
This Mandrarossa Merlot offers an inviting bouquet of plums, quince, and a hint of rosemary. On the palate, it reveals ripe tannins, with notes of liquorice and mulberries, culminating in a long, silky-smooth finish.
Serve at 16-18°C. Decant for 30 minutes to allow its complex aromas to fully develop.
