Maison Les Alexandrins Crozes-Hermitage Rouge from Crozes-Hermitage, France, is a captivating dry red wine. Crafted primarily from Syrah grapes, it undergoes a meticulous vinification process, aged for 10 months in large wooden vats followed by six months in stainless steel, which softens the tannins and preserves its inherent freshness. This results in a fragrant and juicy wine, offering subtle and seductive aromas of red berries complemented by hints of black pepper. On the palate, it delivers finesse, balance, and a beautiful freshness, culminating in a gorgeously round mouthfeel with soft, velvety tannins. A versatile choice, it pairs wonderfully with roasted meats, game, or mature cheeses.

Picking commenced in the early hours of the morning to retain freshness. Subsequently the grapes underwent a period of cold maceration, prior to fermentation which continued for 20 days. To extract the silky tannins, gentle punching down and pumping over was performed. The wine was then left to age for 10 months in large oak barrels, before being transferred to stainless steel tanks for an additional six months of ageing before bottling.
This Crozes-Hermitage Rouge offers subtle and seductive aromas of red berries and a hint of black pepper. On the palate, it reveals a beautiful freshness and balance, with a gorgeously round mouthfeel and soft, velvety tannins.
Serve at 14-16°C. Decanting for 30 minutes will enhance its fragrant red fruit and spice notes.
