Kanakaris Agiorgitiko, Select Vines Peloponnese P.G.I., Greece. This still red wine is a dry expression of the indigenous Agiorgitiko grape, carefully sourced from Nemea vineyards. Aged for six months in second and third-fill oak barrels, it develops smooth, velvety tannins. On the nose, expect enticing aromas of blackberry, raspberry, coffee, clove, and a hint of tobacco. The palate delivers rich dark berry flavours, complemented by notes of dark chocolate. This vegan and vegetarian-friendly wine pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, beef dishes, or mature hard cheeses.
75.0CL , 12.5% ABV
The grapes were carefully selected in the vineyards and harvested by hand into small crates. The destemmed and lightly crushed grapes underwent a cool pre-fermentation maceration on the skins at 10°C for 3 days to extract maximum aromatics, followed by fermentation for 12 days at temperatures increasing gradually from 12 to 23°C in stainless steel tanks. The wine was transferred to second and third fill oak barrels for six months, resulting in smooth tannins.
This dry red wine offers a rich and complex experience, with enticing aromas of dark berries, coffee, clove, and a hint of tobacco. The palate delivers concentrated dark berry flavours, complemented by notes of dark chocolate and smooth, velvety tannins.
Serve at 12-14°C. Decant for 30 minutes before serving to allow its rich aromas to unfold.
