Château Macquin Château Macquin Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion AOC, France, is a still, dry Red wine crafted from 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermented in concrete and temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, a third is aged in 25% new French oak for one year, imparting structure. It offers intense aromas of ripe raspberry and blackcurrant, with spicy cinnamon and pepper notes. The full-bodied palate reveals concentrated cassis, raspberry, and tobacco, complemented by lifted acidity and silky tannins, leading to a lingering finish. This versatile red pairs beautifully with beef, lamb, or mature cheeses, and is suitable for vegetarians.
75.0CL , 14.5% ABV
Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes were gently crushed and moved to temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks for fermentation, some of which were lined with oak staves. Fermentation lasted around three weeks with regular pumping over of the cap in order to extract optimum levels of colour and tannin. Following fermentation, malolactic fermentation took place in tank and then part of the wine was aged in new French oak barrels, giving the wine structure and complexity without overpowering the fruit. The remaining portion was kept in stainless steel until the final blend was assembled and bottled.
This full-bodied red wine offers intense aromas of ripe raspberry and blackcurrant, complemented by spicy notes of cinnamon and pepper. On the palate, concentrated flavours of cassis, raspberry, and tobacco are balanced by a lifted acidity and silky tannins, leading to a long, persistent finish.
Serve at 12-14°C; decanting for an hour before serving is recommended.
