Casa Ferreirinha `Papa Figos` Douro DOC, from Portugal's Douro region, is a vibrant Red still dry wine crafted from a blend of Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Touriga Franca, and Touriga Nacional grapes. Vinified without oak in stainless-steel and concrete vats to preserve its bright fruit, it bursts with aromas of juicy strawberries, blackberries, and cherries, complemented by subtle spice. The palate reveals velvety tannins and a lively acidity, balancing the ripe fruit flavours through to a lingering finish. This vegan and vegetarian-friendly wine pairs wonderfully with a variety of dishes, from roasted poultry to mature cheeses.
75.0CL , 13.5% ABV
Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes were gently destemmed and crushed. Maceration on the skins and fermentation at controlled temperatures took place in stainless-steel tanks with regular punch downs and pump overs. In order to preserve the bright and juicy fruit flavours of the grapes, there was no use of oak in the winemaking process and the wine remained in a mixture of stainless steel and concrete vats until bottling. Only light fining and filtration was carried out prior to bottling to preserve the quality of the aromatics.
This vibrant red wine offers an inviting bouquet of juicy strawberries, blackberries, and cherries, complemented by subtle spicy undertones. On the palate, velvety tannins and lively acidity beautifully balance the ripe fruit flavours, leading to a smooth, lingering finish.
Serve at 14-16°C. A short decant will enhance its vibrant fruit character.
