Bodega Garzón Reserve, Cabernet Franc from Maldonado, Uruguay, is a captivating red wine (rouge) that embodies a still, dry style. Crafted from 100% Cabernet Franc grapes, this wine undergoes fermentation in cement tanks and is aged on its lees in untoasted French oak casks, preserving its pure varietal character. It reveals an aromatic profile of forest fruits, wild herbs, peppery spices, and chocolate with subtle smoky notes. The palate is layered with ripe blackberries, prunes, and fresh herbs, complemented by soft tannins that provide excellent complexity and structure. This versatile wine pairs beautifully with roasted meats and mature cheeses.
75.0CL , 13.5% ABV
The hand-harvested grapes were fermented in 150 hectolitre cement tanks for 10 days at 28-29°C. The wine was then aged for 6 to 12 months on the lees in 50 litre untoasted French oak casks, before being bottled in November 2024.
This Cabernet Franc offers a complex aromatic profile of forest fruits, wild herbs, peppery spices, and chocolate with subtle smoky notes. On the palate, it reveals layers of ripe blackberries, prunes, and fresh herbs, supported by soft tannins for a structured finish.
Serve at 16-18°C. Decanting for 30-60 minutes before serving will enhance its complex aromas.
