Bodega Colomé `Lote Especial`, `La Brava` Malbec from Argentina's Upper Calchaquí Valley is a vibrant Red (claret) Still Dry wine crafted from Malbec grapes. Sourced from the La Brava vineyard at 1,700 metres, the fruit undergoes optical selection, cold maceration, and fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel. Aged for 12 months in 25% new French oak barrels, it presents an aromatic profile of ripe red fruits, floral nuances, and a touch of spice. The palate is powerful yet refined, with round tannins, a plush mid-palate, and a fresh, lingering finish. This exquisite Malbec pairs beautifully with grilled meats or mature cheeses.
75.0CL , 14.5% ABV
Fruit was hand harvested before going through an optical selection process and a four day period of cold maceration. Fermentation took place in stainless-steel tanks with indigenous yeasts at 24 degrees, with twice daily, gentle pump-overs. There was then an extended period of maceration of 30 days before ageing in 225-litre French oak barrels, of which 25% were new, for 12 months.
This vibrant Malbec offers an aromatic bouquet of ripe red fruits, complemented by subtle floral and spice notes. On the palate, it is powerful yet refined, showcasing round tannins and a plush mid-palate that leads to an intense, lingering finish.
Serve at 16-18°C. Decant for 30 minutes before serving to enhance its complex aromas and flavours.
