Altos Las Hormigas `Terroir` Uco Valley Malbec from Argentina is a captivating dry red (rouge) still wine, crafted entirely from Malbec grapes. This vegan and vegetarian-friendly wine undergoes fermentation with indigenous yeasts, with 15% whole bunch inclusion, before ageing for 12 months in 90% concrete tanks and 10% untoasted large oak foudres, followed by 6 months in bottle. It presents a complex bouquet of blackberry, blueberry, ginger, and fresh herbs, leading to a juicy palate with good texture and a persistent finish. A versatile choice, it pairs beautifully with red meats or mature cheeses.
75.0CL , 13.5% ABV
Grapes from different vineyards were vinified separately before blending and were vigorously checked on a double selection table before being put into small stainless steel tanks. The alcoholic fermentation took place with indigenous yeasts at a controlled temperature of 24-26°C, for 15 days with 15% of the fruit remaining whole bunch. Following fermentation, the wine was aged for 12 months with 90% in concrete tanks and 10% in untoasted large oak foudres. Once blended, the wine was aged for 6 months in bottle prior to release.
This Malbec offers a complex bouquet of dark fruits, notably blackberry and blueberry, intertwined with aromatic notes of ginger and fresh herbs. On the palate, it is juicy and well-textured, leading to a persistent and satisfying finish.
Serve at 16-18°C; decanting for 30 minutes will enhance its complex aromas and flavours.
